Apple Pay

A digital wallet, also known as an e-wallet, stores all your payment details in one location. It can make it simpler for you to make cashless purchases online and in shops.

If you’re an HSBC Corporate cardholder, you can now add your HSBC Corporate Card to Apple Pay.

A digital wallet can make payments quicker. This offers:

• A single location for all your payment information, so you no longer need to remember several passwords and PINs
• Convenience – you can leave your actual wallet at home if you don't want to carry it around
• The ability to make payments online without having to fill in your payment details every time you want to make a purchase

Using Biometric log on, such as your fingerprint or your face, are a secure way to log on to your mobile device.

Digital wallets use authentication and data encryption to protect your personal information, unlike a traditional wallet where someone can access your cards if they take it.

However, if you use a digital wallet, you should still take extra safety measures to keep your information safe.

These can include:

• Using a PIN or fingerprint identification protection on your smartphone.
• Being vigilant about keeping track of card transactions made from your digital wallet.

HSBC Corporate Cards eligible for Apple Pay, subject to status, are the following:

• Corporate Card
• Purchasing Card
• Fuel EV Card

If your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch or Mac is lost or stolen, you can go to iCloud.com/find or use the ‘Find My’ app to mark your device as lost.

To suspend or remove your HSBC Corporate Card from Apple Pay, please call us on UK number 03456 015 934 (or +44 1226 261 053 if calling from outside of the UK). Alternatively, for local rate numbers please call the number found at the back of your card.

If you replace or update your device, you will need to add your card(s) to Apple Wallet again.

Please ensure that you remove your HSBC Corporate Card from any device before selling, exchanging, or disposing of them. You should also remove your card if you temporarily pass your device to someone else; for example, if you pass it to be repaired.

You can remove a card from Apple Pay at any time.

To remove your card on iPhone

• Go to 'Settings'.
• Open 'Wallet & Apple Pay'.
• Tap the card that you want to remove, then tap 'Remove Card'.

To remove your card on Apple Watch

• On your Apple Watch, tap the Wallet app.
• Tap the card that you want to remove.
• Scroll down and tap 'Remove’

From your iPhone

• Open the Watch app.
• Go to the ‘My Watch’ tab.
• Tap 'Wallet & Apple Pay'.
• Tap the card that you want to remove, then tap 'Remove Card'.

If your card is nearing expiry, a replacement card is automatically issued and the new card details are automatically updated in your Apple Wallet.

If your card has been lost, stolen, renewed, or replaced you’ll need to make a chip & PIN transaction within the timeframes below to continue using the digital wallet. If you don’t your digital wallet may be deactivated.

Lost or stolen card – Within 30 days of the date your card is reported as lost or stolen.

Renewed card – Before the expiry date shown on your old card.

Replaced card - Within 30 days of the date you ask us to replace your card.

Apple Pay is a secure way to make payments. Your card number is not stored on your device, and it is never shared by Apple Pay or sent with your payment. Instead, Apple Pay gives you a unique Device Account Number, that’s encrypted and stored in a secure part of your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch.

When you use Apple Pay, your Device Account Number and a specific dynamic security code, are used to process your payment.

To protect your card:

You must not choose a device passcode that can be easily guessed by anyone else or tell anyone else what your device passcode is; and you must ensure that you do not store anyone else's fingerprint, Face ID within your Apple Pay device.

One-time passcode:

For security purposes, we may ask you to enter a one-time passcode to confirm your identity. This code is a unique series of numbers and will be sent via text. Once received, please enter the one-time passcode into the appropriate field.
